Philippine companies are being urged to shift from climate commitments to measurable decarbonization strategies, as the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) convenes its second Philippine Net Zero Conference on September 18, 2025, at SMX Convention Center Aura.
The event, held in partnership with the Southeast Asia Corporate Decarbonization Exchange (CDx), will gather business leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates to address a pressing gap: while the country has set ambitious targets—including a 75% greenhouse gas emissions cut by 2030—many firms remain short on tools, technology, and financing to deliver.
“Whether they’re small and medium enterprises tracking emissions for the first time, or large corporations working to reduce supply chain emissions, the challenge is clear: ambition must translate into action,” said Atty Allan V. Barcena, NZCA Executive Director.
Building on its 2024 debut, this year’s conference expands into sector-focused breakouts, peer-driven “fishbowl” sessions, and discussions on financing mechanisms and innovation pathways. Confirmed speakers include Environment Secretary Raphael Lotilla, Energy Development Corporation President Jerome Cainglet, Congressman Jose Manuel Alba, Unilever’s Rondell Torres, and First Philippine Holdings Chief Sustainability Officer Agnes de Jesus. CDx CEO Mark Lister will deliver the closing address.
Barcena emphasized the role of sustained dialogue, noting, “Through continuous and practical dialogue with different leaders, we can help drive both corporate and national progress toward a low-carbon economy.”
Insights gathered at the event will feed into NZCA’s 2026 priorities, ensuring post-conference action.
Formed in 2021 with seven pioneering members, NZCA now counts nearly 30 companies spanning diverse industries. With CDx as its knowledge and network partner, the coalition has positioned itself as the country’s leading private-sector net-zero platform.
The Philippine Net Zero Conference 2025 is a one-day, in-person event. Registration details are available at netzerocarbonalliance.ph/nzcacon2025.
