Prime Energy president and CEO Donnabel Kuizon Cruz has been elected chairperson of the Philippine Petroleum Association of the Upstream Industry (PAP).
In an Inquirer report, Cruz’s leadership was affirmed during PAP’s annual membership meeting, where members expressed confidence in her vision for a secure and sustainable energy future.
She emphasized PAP’s commitment to working closely with the government and industry stakeholders to ensure the stability and sustainability of the country’s energy resources.
The organization plays a key role in advocating for the interests of the upstream oil and gas sector while collaborating with the government on industry initiatives. Among these efforts are the PH-Extractives Industry Transparency Initiative, led by the Department of Finance (DOF), and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) 2024 Bid Round Launch.
PAP’s membership includes major players in the upstream petroleum industry, such as Prime Energy, Nido Petroleum Philippines Pty. Ltd., Oriental Petroleum and Minerals Corporation, PXP Energy Corporation, PetroEnergy Resources Corporation, The Philodrill Corporation, PNOC Exploration Corporation, Enex Energy Corporation, UC38 LLC, Anglo Philippine Holdings Corporation, NPG Pty. Ltd., and Alcorn Petroleum and Minerals Corporation.
The organization also has associate members from key service and support sectors, including CSA Resources, BenLine Agencies, Royal Cargo, Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co., and Desco Inc.
As PAP continues to strengthen the country’s upstream industry, Cruz reaffirmed the group’s commitment to responsible development and economic growth through oil and gas exploration.
With PAP’s leadership transition, the organization aims to bolster industry-government collaboration and reinforce its role in shaping the country’s energy policies.
The PAP, established in 2013, is a non-profit organization representing companies engaged in upstream petroleum operations. Its members account for the country’s entire oil and gas production.
