Power Ai Philippines successfully hosted the country’s first live demonstration of floating solar technology on August 15, 2025, at Chandava Lake Resort in Cavinti, Laguna. The full-day Floating Solar PV Installation & Material Optimization Seminar brought together engineers, EPC firms, installers, and renewable energy advocates to advance the adoption of innovative solar solutions in the Philippines.
The event, attended by participants from across the country, featured a live installation demonstration of floating photovoltaic (PV) systems, hands-on training on advanced mounting systems, and discussions on optimizing materials for cost efficiency and durability. Led by expert speakers Engr. Charming Medina, Fonrich SEA Region Technical Sales, and Engr. Augosto Reynes Jr., and Engr. Joel Aguillon, the seminar provided practical insights into deploying floating solar technology to address land constraints and meet the nation’s growing energy demands.
Coco Miao, president of Power Ai Philippines, emphasized the transformative potential of floating solar systems. “Floating photovoltaic systems are gaining traction worldwide for their ability to maximize space by using lakes, reservoirs, and other water bodies. For the Philippines, where land competition and climate challenges are pressing concerns, floating solar offers a promising path to accelerate renewable energy adoption,” she said.
Coco highlighted Power Ai’s strategies to overcome key challenges in the renewable energy market, such as logistics and installation quality. “The biggest challenge here is logistics because the projects are so spread out,” Miao noted. “We partner with EPC (engineering- procurement- construction) companies and local distributors to keep basic materials in warehouses, like in Zamboanga, so our customers can pull materials locally and reduce transportation costs.”
Power Ai Philippines also prioritizes training to ensure high-standard installations. “All our installers follow standard training by us to secure the material quality and installation process,” Coco said, mentioning that the team will be continuing to conduct a series of training seminars in key locations around the country.
The seminar also showcased Power Ai’s partnerships with major industry players, including Aboitiz, for ground-mounting and floating system designs. Coco shared, “We are the first to do on-site floating system training in the Philippines, and we’re excited to collaborate with other partners to bring these innovations to life.”
Participants benefited from hands-on sessions, networking opportunities, and exclusive perks, including a PHP 1,000 voucher, merchandise, and meals provided during the program. The event underscored Power Ai Philippines’ commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovation in the renewable energy sector, offering high-quality solar panels, inverters, energy storage systems, and specialized mounting solutions.
