Schneider Electric Marks 30 Years in PH with Innovation Day 2025, Champions Smarter Energy Future

Schneider Electric celebrated its 30th anniversary in the Philippines with Innovation Day Philippines 2025, an event that united industry leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates to highlight the role of digital transformation in accelerating the country’s clean energy transition.

Held on May 20 at Shangri-La The Fort, the event showcased Schneider Electric’s latest advancements in energy management and industrial automation, underscoring how smart technologies can help the Philippines achieve its net-zero targets while enhancing business resilience and energy efficiency.

“Over 30 years, Schneider Electric in the Philippines has become a global hub for innovation and supply. Innovation Day Philippines 2025 marks this progress and showcases how digital, sustainable technologies can shape our energy future,” said Ireen Go-Catane, Country President of Schneider Electric Philippines.

Themed “Innovate for IMPACT”, the gathering highlighted the growing demand for intelligent infrastructure amid the uprising of artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization. Schneider Electric warned that AI-driven growth could lead to a 4.2x increase in data center energy use by 2028, with a single ChatGPT query consuming as much as 10 times more power than a Google search.

With 96% of local businesses undergoing digital transformation, the company emphasized the need for cybersecure, reliable supply chains—a priority already recognized by 42% of Philippine enterprises, according to its data.

The event featured government and private sector voices discussing innovation’s role in energy security and sustainable growth. Important figures included Senator Win Gatchalian, Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chair Monalisa Dimalanta, PEZA Director General Tereso Panga, SEC Commissioner McJill Bryant Fernandez, and Climate Change Commission Assistant Secretary Romell Antonio Cuenca.

Panel discussions explored smart building technologies, early-stage energy planning, and the vitality of public-private cooperation to improve energy resilience in the face of rising demand and environmental concerns.

Schneider Electric also highlighted the Philippines’ strategic role in its global operations. According to Carlos Leviste, Strategy and Marketing Director of Schneider Electric Philippines, the country hosts a 24/7 Global Hub that provides finance, customer care, technical, sales, and digital services to markets including North America and East Asia.

“The Philippines is one of the few locations with territory-wide operations covering every market where Schneider Electric operates,” Leviste noted.

The local workforce of around 3,000 employees includes a strong representation of women in engineering and leadership roles, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive growth.

At the event’s Innovation Hub, Schneider Electric presented technologies aimed at optimizing energy use and cutting emissions. These included:

  • EcoStruxure systems
  • Building Management System (BMS) panels
  • Motor Control Center (MCC) panels
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) panels
  • Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
  • AI-powered cooling solutions

These innovations showcase the company’s strategy of combining energy management with automation to deliver real-time insights and enable smarter business decisions.

Beyond just technology, Schneider Electric reaffirmed its investment in workforce development through education and training initiatives. Its Youth Education and Entrepreneurship Program partners with schools such as Don Bosco, Dualtech, and Batangas State University, and collaborates with the Department of Science and Technology and Philippine Science High School System to bring moderGlobal Recognition

Schneider Electric has earned multiple global accolades, including being named the World’s Most Sustainable Company by Time Magazine and Statista (2024) and again by Corporate Knights (2025). It was also recognized as the Most Gender-Inclusive Workplace in the Philippines by the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
