STB Giga Factory Inc. is aiming to expand its production capacity in New Clark City by adding two new production lines, intending to reach two gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery output by 2030.
In a Business World report, StB Giga factory business development director Paulo Salvador said that currently, the firm’s local capacity ranges from 300 to 600 megawatt-hours (MWh).
StB Giga is a partnership between Australia-based StB Capital Partners, also known as St. Baker Group, and Oli Power, both of which are recognized as key players in the energy transition landscape throughout the Asia-Pacific.
The planned expansion would include two additional factories in Clark, though final locations are yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, StB Pure EV business development head Jose Montano said that this commitment is crucial as it is targeting to increase capacity for battery manufacturing. Pure EV is one of the firms under the belt of the St. Baker Group.
Montaño also mentioned plans to develop battery charging stations and renewable energy components in the Philippines.
In September, the company inaugurated a new battery manufacturing plant in the Clark Special Economic Zone in Capas, Tarlac—a part of the Php 86 billion worth of investment deals secured by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. during the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in March.
STB aims to export 70% of its production to Australia and Southeast Asia, with the remainder for domestic use.
StB GigaFactory’s batteries support solar energy applications for residential, commercial, and industrial use.
