Sungrow Targets Southeast Asia’s Power Resilience with Quiet, Heat-Tolerant Residential ESS

Sungrow, the global leading PV inverter and energy storage system provide, unveiled its newest residential energy storage system (ESS) at the 2025 Southeast Asia Distribution Summit in Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam.

The new MG Series inverters range from 5 kW to 10 kW. They provide full power even in 45°C heat and switch to backup in just 4 milliseconds.

MG5/6RL models are already available and support over 50 battery brands. MG8/10RL and the MGL060 battery will launch in Q4 2025.

The system scales from 5 kW to 80 kW with up to eight units running in parallel. It fits homes from apartments to large villas.

Users can start with solar and expand later or set it up as backup-only. One port handles load management, genset coordination, and PV expansion.

During outages, the system activates in 4 ms, avoiding flickers or shutdowns. The MG6RL can double output briefly to support heavy appliances.

It operates at just 35 dB—quieter than a library. Sungrow’s Immersive Silence tech ensures household peace during use.

The system accepts 200% DC input and outputs up to 160% max capacity. Users can run appliances while charging batteries efficiently.

It works with high-current PV panels and stays reliable under extreme heat. It keeps homes powered during peak sun hours.

The inverter uses Sungrow’s PID ZERO® to recover from degradation without disconnecting. This ensures solar panels stay efficient for 25 years.

Setup is fast with a 4.3-inch touchscreen. No internet is needed for commissioning. LED indicators show system and battery status at a glance.

With one tap, users can fully charge from 30% to 100% in an hour. This helps prepare for typhoons or scheduled outages.

Later this year, it will support Sungrow’s iHomeManager. This AI tool will tailor energy use based on weather, tariffs, and usage patterns.

In Q4, Sungrow will launch the MGL060 battery with 314 Ah LFP cells and 8000 cycles. Each pack optimizes itself, even when mixed with old ones.

Sungrow aims to improve power resilience and efficiency across Southeast Asia’s climate-challenged and grid-limited areas.
