As part of its international expansion goal, Thailand-based RATCH Group Public Company Ltd. is working on building its Negros solar project this year and planning its offshore wind projects in Camarines Sur and Quezon province in 2025.
Manila Standard reported that the firm developed the Negros project with a capacity of 150 megawatts (MW), alongside the Lucena offshore wind project in Quezon and the San Miguel Bay wind farm in Camarines Sur, both with a capacity of 450 MW each.
RATCH holds a 49% stake in Negros and 49% shares in Quezon and Camarines Sur, assuring investors of secured returns.
Additionally, RATCH reported that their 74 MW solar project in Calabanga, Camarines Sur, which is being carried out by its subsidiary, Calabanga Renewable Energy, Inc., is drawing to a close.
After that, the company would sell 85% of the energy it produced through a power supply contract to two Aboitiz Corporation companies, while the remaining portion would be sold through direct short-term contracts with commercial and contestable consumers or the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
