The Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM)’s average electricity prices drop to Php 5.20 per kilowatt-hour in November due to an increase of supply after the Malampaya natural gas field resumed operations.
WESM’s electricity price was at an average of Php 6.51 in October due to the three weeks that Malampaya was in maintenance.
Lower electricity demand is expected towards the end of the year and the first months of 2022 due to cooler weather.
