AC Energy has won multiple awards for exemplary compliance of its renewable energy (RE) projects at the recently concluded Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) Compliance Officers (WCO) Summit 2020.

Negros Oriental-based Monte Solar Energy, Inc. (Montesol) ranked first place in the solar categor, while Negros Occidental-based Negros Island Solar Power Inc. (Islasol) and San Carlos Solar Energy Inc. (Sacasol) followed at second and third, respectively.

The three Negros solar farms have a combined capacity of 143 megawatts (MW).

Meanwhile, North Luzon Renewables Energy Corporation (NLREC) and Northwind Power Development Corporation — AC Energy’s wind farms in the Ilocos region — bagged first and second place honors, respectively, in the wind category.

Both located in Ilocos Norte, the Northwind and NLREC wind farms have an aggregate capacity of 133MW.

Organized by the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation, WESM’s governing body, the WCO Summit 2020 recognizes the efforts of power generating companies to attain high compliance scores with set spot market rules, while working on their respective commitments to offer to the market their maximum available capacity through forecast accuracy and real-time dispatch.
