Rochel Donato Garcia, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGen), has recently been appointed as treasurer and officer of Solar Philippines New Energy Corp. (SPNEC), a subsidiary of Solar Philippines.
Garcia has held several key positions before joining SCPNEC, including Vice President and Head of Business Development and Corporate Planning at First Philec, Inc., a company that specializes in transformer solutions.
He was also a former First VP and Head for Energy Trading at Aboitiz Power Corp and currently serves as CFO of MGen’s subsidiary, Business Power Corp. (GBP).
SPNEC stated that with 37 years of leadership experience in corporate finance, business development, and marketing across various sectors, including energy, telecommunications, and private equity, Garcia is considered a seasoned executive.
Meanwhile, Aresty M. Lapitan, the former Head of Controllership at SP New Energy, has transitioned to the role of Assistant Chief Information Officer (CIO), while Alicia G. Brion has taken Lapitan’s former position.
Brion, who previously held the role of First VP and Controller at both MGen and GBP, had senior leadership roles in accounting and audit at Bauang Private Power Corp., AmTrust Financial Holdings, and LC Diaz and Co., an accounting firm. She currently holds a senior leadership role in accounting at Meralco’s Green Corp.
