Subsidiaries of the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) are partnering with real estate developers Mirax and Rima Corporations as part of their pledge to promote sustainability by offering solar energy and internet connectivity solutions.
The solar arm of MERALCO, MSpectrum Inc., handed over a 32 kilowatt peak (kWp) solar panel system with a battery energy storage to Rima in order to supply energy to its Taguig Warehouse 1.
“We strive to be the renewable energy solution provider of choice in making sure that our customers benefit from efficient, reliable, and safe solar installations, the latest, and most up-to-date solar technology, and international reach—the likes of which Mirax and Rima has already achieved,” said MSpectrum Commercial Services Head Rodolfo B. Lim.
This solar system and battery storage transferred by MSpectrum would allow Rima to minimize its carbon footprint by around 30 tonnes, comparable to planting 1,350 mature trees,
Furthermore, MERALCO’s subsidiary Radius Telecoms Inc., put into operation around 100 megabytes (MB) bandwidth of internet connectivity to their 10-storey commercial and residential building in Makati.
“Any future technologies you want to install in your facilities will be served by the fiber connectivity and innovative solutions that Radius provides. Through this partnership, we commit our support for Mirax’s endeavor to build future-proof and sustainable buildings,” said Radius Vice President and OIC Chief Operating Officer Alfredo B. Solis, Jr.
Radius Telecoms is an end-to-end full fiber optic network provider that had been delivering its services to partners and customers, while MSpectrum offered its services by providing solutions on energy consumption to its partners.
