Repower Energy Development Corporation (PSE:REDC), the hydropower arm of Pure Energy Holdings Corporation, posted a 58% surge in net income for the first half of 2025, driven by higher clean energy generation and controlled operating costs.
“2025 is shaping up to be a banner and transformative year for REDC, proving that efficient operations and dependable hydro resources can power both the community and the company’s strong financial results,” said President and CEO Eric Y. Roxas.
Clean energy output rose 29% to 59.77 million kWh from 46.32 million kWh in the same period last year, pushing revenues up 28% to PHP 359.61 million from PHP 281.35 million. Net income climbed to PHP 152.20 million from PHP 96.58 million.
The company credited favorable hydro conditions, minimal natural disasters, and tighter plant operations for the results. Electricity sales costs and overhead remained steady through high plant availability, proactive maintenance, and procurement efficiencies.
REDC said its Cabanglasan Hydropower Plant in Bukidnon is on track for commissioning in the third quarter of 2025, following completion of transmission line works in July. The company expects the facility to help more than double its generation capacity and boost revenues.
