Maynilad Water Services, Inc. has enrolled 55 of its water and wastewater facilities in MPower’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), enabling bulk electricity procurement and consolidated account management. The move improves operational efficiency while laying the groundwork for company targets to achieve a higher share of renewable energy.
The enrollment covers pump stations, reservoirs, and treatment plants across Metro Manila and Cavite. The Poblacion Water Treatment Plant in Muntinlupa City, Maynilad’s newest facility, has been specifically enrolled in MPower’s Retail Electricity Supply (RES) program, receiving a power mix of 90% non-renewable and 10% renewable energy. Across all other facilities, the RAP program allows Maynilad to consolidate accounts and optimize energy use while gradually increasing the renewable portion of its overall power mix.
“These initiatives form part of our broader strategy to optimize energy consumption while reducing our overall environmental footprint,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.
As of March 2025, the country’s largest water concessionaire sources 15% of its electricity from clean energy, with a target of 35%–50% by 2037 as part of its carbon neutrality roadmap.
