MGEN’s Handog sa Pasko Reaches 6,300 Communities With PHP 3.2M in Holiday Aid

Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN) mobilized more than PHP 3.2 million worth of assistance through its annual Handog sa Pasko ng MGEN (HAPAG) initiative, bringing holiday support to over 6,300 beneficiaries across host communities nationwide.

The year-end program delivered Noche Buena gift packs and supported community activities in 44 municipalities located near MGEN’s thermal and renewable energy facilities, nearly doubling last year’s reach.

HAPAG was rolled out through MGEN’s power generation subsidiaries, reflecting a group-wide effort to engage and support communities where its facilities operate. The initiative is part of MGEN’s broader approach to community partnership, particularly in areas hosting critical energy infrastructure.

“HAPAG reflects MGEN’s commitment to being a responsible partner to our host communities,” said Emmanuel V. Rubio, President and CEO of MGEN. “As our portfolio grows, we remain mindful that progress should be shared, and this initiative is one way we express our gratitude and support to the communities where we operate.”

Beyond the holiday season, MGEN continues to pursue programs that support inclusive growth and community development, reinforcing its goal of building long-term partnerships alongside its expanding power generation portfolio.
