Diesel prices could increase by as much as PHP 5.77 per liter this week, while kerosene may see a hike of up to PHP 8.10 per liter, based on the latest fuel price projections released by the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB).
For the June 9 to 15 trading week, the OIMB projected diesel prices to rise by PHP 3.77 to PHP 5.77 per liter and kerosene prices by PHP 6.10 to PHP 8.10 per liter.
Gasoline prices, meanwhile, are expected to decline by PHP 1.70 per liter, with a maximum adjustment of up to PHP 0.30 per liter.
The latest fuel price outlook comes as the DOE reported sufficient petroleum inventories nationwide, indicating that supply remains stable despite anticipated movements in pump prices.
Data released by the OIMB showed that the country’s total petroleum inventory was equivalent to 47.09 days of supply as of June 5, 2026.
Diesel inventories stood at 34.65 million kiloliters, enough for 45.21 days of supply, while gasoline stocks reached 24.63 million kiloliters or 44.81 days. LPG inventory was recorded at 10.43 million kiloliters, equivalent to 45.04 days of supply.
Among major fuel products, kerosene posted the highest inventory cover at 143.09 days, followed by jet fuel at 73.25 days. Fuel oil inventories were sufficient for 41.01 days of supply.
The DOE’s latest assessment suggests that fuel availability remains adequate even as diesel and kerosene users brace for another round of price increases.
How could another sharp increase in diesel prices affect power generation costs, transport operations, and inflationary pressures in the Philippines in the coming weeks?
