Advent Energy Inc, the retail electricity supply (RES) company of the Aboitiz Power Corporation, will be supplying renewable energy to two manufacturing plants in Visayas.

The RES company bagged contracts with car builder company NKC Manufacturing Philippines Corp. (NKC) in Lapu-Lapu City and sugar producer Victoria Milling Co. (VMC) under the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Green Energy Option Program (GEOP).

In a report by the Philippine Star, Aboitiz Power senior vice president for commercial operations Sandro Aboitiz said that the market response to the GEOP drives the company to continue its momentum in reaching its 50:50 balance in its energy portfolio.

Aboitiz Power has allotted Php 190 billion in order to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 4,600 megawatts (MW) by 2030.

NKC president Norihiko Matsuda said that they want to do their part in “creating a safer world where families can enjoy the products we put to life.”

Meanwhile, VMC said that their shift to renewable energy in running their bioethanol plant is their step in achieving their sustainability goals.
