AC Energy has three power projects lined up next year that will contribute around 330 MW to its energy portfolio.
The projects are the 120 MW solar plant venture in Alaminos, Laguna; 60 MW solar facility installation in Palauig, Zambales and the 150 MW first unit diesel-fired power plant project in Pililla, Rizal, according to a Manila Bulletin report.
“We already announced those approvals and we expect to start construction soon – in the next few weeks,” AC Energy President Eric T. Francia said
He highlighted that the final investment decision (FID) had already been finalized and the funding for the projects are secured.
“We are going to issue the notice to proceed very soon, but we’ve already disclosed the Board approval for the investment in these two solar projects and one peaking project in Pililla, Rizal,” Francia said.
The diesel-powered facility will have two units and will eventually be increased up to 300 MW capacity. The first unit is targeted to be commercially operated before the end of 2020.
Francia said that the Pililla plant will take at least a year to complete but the construction will most likely begin before the year ends.
Francia added that the bigger target would be advanced to construction the 550 MW facility next year.
“We have a lot of projects that we’re developing,” he stressed.
Other projects will be between solar and wind, he added.
