ACEN Corporation is aiming for an additional 1.2 gigawatts (GW) of operational renewable energy capacity by 2025.
In a report by Manila Bulletin, ACEN president and CEO Eric Francia shared that the company is in line to deliver its pipeline projects set to come online next year.
Francia said the company is at 6.8 GW, which includes operational, under-construction, and committed projects. ACEN reported that 45% of this capacity is operational, while 34% is currently being built.
The ACEN CEO highlighted two major projects contributing to the target: the 520-megawatt (MW) Stubbo Solar project in Australia and the 300 MW Palauig 2 Solar project in Zambales, both slated for completion in 2025.
The Stubbo Solar project, located in New South Wales, covers 1,250 hectares and is expected to supply electricity to approximately 185,000 households.
ACEN’s 146 MW Monsoon Wind project in Laos is also scheduled to begin operations next year, marking Southeast Asia’s first cross-border wind project.
The wind farm, a joint venture with BCPG Public Company Limited, Mitsubishi Corporation, and other partners, will export power to Vietnam, energizing around 298,100 homes.
Francia added that other projects in the pipeline include Pangasinan Solar, Pagudpud Wind, Capa Wind, Stockyard Wind in the U.S., and a hybrid solar project in India.
