Alsons Power holds ERC-backed workshops to strengthen outage reporting and response

Alsons Power Group is strengthening its outage reporting and crisis response capabilities through a series of training workshops conducted in coordination with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), as power generators continue to align operations with evolving regulatory requirements.

The training sessions, organized by the company’s Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and Industry Relations (LRCIR) unit, focused on improving compliance with reporting requirements on grid reliability and enhancing personnel readiness in responding to unplanned outages and other significant events.

During the two-day workshops, ERC resource persons underscored the importance of timely and consistent reporting in maintaining grid integrity and system-wide reliability, specifically highlighting the role of power generators in ensuring that operational disruptions are properly monitored and communicated.

“This training reinforces our commitment to full regulatory compliance and operational discipline,” said Vice President for LRCIR Atty. Lumen Balboa, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in plant operations.

The sessions also introduced Alsons Power’s Significant Event and Unplanned Outage Protocol, aimed at establishing a more structured and coordinated approach to managing operational disruptions and ensuring more consistent responses to system events.

“Strengthening reporting discipline and alignment with reliability standards enables us to anticipate risks, respond effectively to system events, and consistently deliver stable power,” said Senior Vice President and Business Manager for PBU Generations Jose Luis R. Angco.

The initiative reflects the growing emphasis on regulatory compliance and preparedness in the power sector, as companies enhance internal systems to meet reporting standards and improve operational resilience amid evolving grid conditions.

By reinforcing both reporting discipline and response readiness, Alsons Power aims to ensure more reliable power delivery while aligning with broader industry efforts to strengthen grid stability.
