Alternergy Holdings Corp. has awarded the contract for its Alabat and Tanay wind power ventures to China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co. Ltd. (GEDI).
The Alabat and Tanay projects boast a collective capacity of 163 megawatts.
In a report by Business World, Alternergy reported that it has turned over the balance of plant (BOP) engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to GEDI and its Philippine subsidiary, GEDI Construction Development Corp.
Under the BOP EPC agreement, Alternergy delineated responsibilities covering design, engineering, supply of civil and electrical works, equipment transportation, construction, and installation for the Alabat and Tanay wind farms.
GEDI has a global footprint spanning over 50 countries with more than 700 EPC ventures.
Construction for the firm’s 55-MW Alabat wind project in Quezon province and 86-MW Tanay wind project in Rizal province is slated to commence by the second quarter of 2024. While completion of these projects is targeted by the conclusion of 2025.
Alternergy has set its sights on advancing renewable energy ventures, aspiring to cultivate up to 1,370 MW from sources including onshore and offshore wind, solar, and run-of-river hydropower projects.
