Meralco reaffirms EV leadership at 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit

Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reaffirmed its commitment to advance the country’s shift toward sustainable mobility through its participation at the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit held from October 23 to 25, 2025 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

During the event, Meralco showcased its Electric Vehicle Adoption Program, which forms part of the company’s broader sustainability strategy aimed at promoting clean transport and energy resilience in the Philippines.

The program is anchored on three pillars: Meralco as an Enabler- ensuring reliable EV charging infrastructure; Meralco as a User- transitioning its own fleet to electric vehicles; and Meralco as a Player- operating commercial charging stations and forming partnerships to expand EV use nationwide.

Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho emphasized the company’s leadership in what he described as the “EV revolution.”

“Electric mobility is no longer a distant vision—it is here, it is real, and it is transforming the way we move and power our lives,” Aperocho said. “At Meralco, we are committed to igniting this EVolution by strengthening the grid, powering EV infrastructure, and electrifying our own fleet.”

He also spotlighted the importance of collaboration among policymakers, innovators, and industry leaders to drive EV adoption through supportive policies, public awareness, and unified industry action.

Meralco’s exhibit at the summit featured home and commercial EV charging solutions, as well as energy programs designed to enable practical, large-scale adoption of electric vehicles for consumers and businesses.
