The Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) has been activated after securing a provisional Certificate for Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

“With the grant of CPCN, Negros Power is now authorized to begin operations as the distribution utility for the franchise area. We are pleased to inform you that Negros Power is now fully operational,” said Negros Power chief operating officer Bernard Bailey Del Castillo.

Beginning November 11, the distribution utility (DU) will open public customer care centers that would accommodate services like new applications, bill deposits, customer concerns, and Negros Power bills payments in the areas of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, and Bago, and Murcia town.

“To ensure accuracy and transparency, our meter readers will capture photos of (consumers’) meters during field visits and bill deliveries. This process allows us to promptly address any issue related to meter readings,” Del Castillo added.

However, consumers in Talisay were given instructions to settle their electricity bills through third-party collection agents (TPCAs) for the time being, while charges from Negros Power can be handled at any Negros Power office or through an accredited TPCA.

Meanwhile, starting November 16, Negros Power would begin sending electricity bills, although customers who currently get invoices from Ceneco could continue to pay at Ceneco facilities.
