A major leisure destination in Bulacan has transitioned its electricity supply to Mabuhay Energy Corporation, marking a retail electricity shift that underscores the growing adoption of competitive energy sourcing among commercial and hospitality establishments under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework.
San Rafael River Adventure, known for its riverside villas, glass cottages, and outdoor attractions such as ATV rides and zipline activities, has officially switched to Mabuhay Energy as its Retail Electricity Supplier to support uninterrupted operations across its accommodation, dining, and recreational facilities.
Under the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001, the RCOA program enables qualified end users to select their own electricity supplier in a competitive retail market. The policy is intended to enhance service efficiency, strengthen accountability among suppliers, and give businesses greater flexibility in managing power costs.
“By choosing Mabuhay Energy as its trusted RES, San Rafael River Adventure redefines its operational efficiency,” the company said in a statement. “This collaboration underscores a vital transition toward viewing energy as a strategic asset; by reallocating utility expenses toward infrastructure and expansion, the resort is better positioned to elevate the end-to-end experience for its guests, who remain at the heart of every decision.”
The deal also reflects continued expansion of Mabuhay Energy’s footprint in the commercial and hospitality segments, as more end users transition to contestable retail supply arrangements to optimize electricity procurement and operational costs.
