As businesses face mounting pressure to decarbonize, industrial printing firm Precision Crestec, Inc. is doubling down on its commitment to sustainability by renewing its clean energy partnership with First Gen Corporation. The deal ensures that its Pasig City production facility will continue running on 700 kilowatts of renewable energy, reinforcing its efforts to meet growing consumer demand for greener supply chains.
Precision Crestec first partnered with First Gen in 2021, recognizing the need for a cleaner energy source to power its operations. The renewed agreement, signed late last month, cements the company’s dedication to reducing its environmental footprint while aligning with global sustainability goals.
“Founded in 1962, Precision Crestec, Inc. has been at the forefront of delivering high-quality packaging solutions across industries such as food and beverage, electronics, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and retail. Our commitment to sustainability is driven by our customers’ increasing demand for eco-friendly supply chains,” said Purificacion Dizon, President of Precision Crestec. “By continuing our partnership with First Gen, we ensure that our production remains both innovative and environmentally responsible.”
In addition to providing clean energy, First Gen, through its sister company Pi Energy Inc., is equipping Precision Crestec with energy efficiency solutions aimed at optimizing power consumption. One such initiative includes a remote energy monitoring system that enables real-time analysis of electricity usage, allowing the company to make data-driven decisions that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
“Our partnership with industrial firms such as Precision Crestec enables them to understand their power utilization better and make more informed decisions on cost savings. More importantly, it allows them to reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining operational efficiency,” said Carlo Lorenzo Vega, First Gen Vice President and Chief Customer Engagement Officer.
First Gen remains at the forefront of the country’s renewable energy sector, with 1,651 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity spanning solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power plants. In addition, it operates another 2,017 MW of capacity from natural gas plants, which act as a transition fuel to support intermittent renewable energy sources. Altogether, its 3,668-MW total capacity plays a crucial role in ensuring the Philippines’ energy security.
As the push for sustainability intensifies, more businesses are expected to follow Precision Crestec’s lead by integrating renewable energy into their operations. The renewed agreement not only highlights the company’s dedication to responsible business practices but also sets a benchmark for other industrial firms striving for a greener future.
