Cleantech Global’s PHP 108-B wind projects secure Green Lane status

Five onshore wind projects of Cleantech Global Renewables, Inc. (CTGRI) and its subsidiary, Cleantech Renewable Energy 50 Corp., have been granted Green Lane certification by the Board of Investments (BOI), fast-tracking their implementation in Central Luzon and CALABARZON.

The projects, with a total estimated investment of PHP 108 billion, mark a major development in the country’s clean energy landscape. The certifications were awarded following a meeting between BOI officials and company representatives, the Daily Tribune reports.

The approved projects include:

  • Tayabas North Wind Power Project (144 MW) – PHP 18.29 billion
  • Tayabas South Wind Power Project – PHP 22.9 billion
  • Bulacan 1 Wind Power Project (187.2 MW) – PHP 24.10 billion
  • Bulacan 2 Wind Power Project (237.6 MW) – PHP 28.79 billion
  • Maragondon Wind Power Project (86.4 MW) – PHP 13.95 billion

BOI Investments Assistance Center Executive Director Atty. Bobby Fondevilla noted the developments are expected to create over 3,000 jobs.

CTGRI, an independent, 100% Filipino-owned renewable energy company, has been developing solar and wind power projects since 2014. Its current portfolio includes 650 MW of solar capacity either operational or under construction, with more than 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects in various stages of development.

The Green Lane initiative, under the BOI, is designed to expedite strategic investments through streamlined permitting and licensing procedures. It forms part of the government’s broader commitment to advancing sustainable development and energy security.

As of 30 June 2025, a total of 222 projects—176 of which are in the renewable energy sector—have been granted Green Lane status, amounting to a combined project cost of ₱5.748 trillion.
