Peak Energy has launched its first major solar project in the Philippines, a 65-megawatt peak (MWp) greenfield development in Isabela, Cagayan Valley, marking a significant step in its expansion across Southeast Asia.
The project is expected to generate more than 68 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually, enough to power about 23,000 households, while cutting around 37,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to removing 8,000 cars from the road. Commercial operations are targeted for the first half of 2027.
Peak Energy said the development reflects strong investor confidence in the Philippine renewables market, which has been strengthened by government incentives and clearer regulatory frameworks in recent years. The company plans to supply clean power directly to large corporations seeking long-term, stable energy contracts.
“This project illustrates how we approach our regional development: focusing on high-quality sites, securing the fundamentals fast, and ensuring projects meet the expectations of our customers,” said Peak Energy CEO Gavin Adda. “The Philippines offers a rare combination in Southeast Asia: strong solar potential and a regulatory environment that actively supports renewable energy deployment.”
Headquartered in Singapore, Peak Energy currently owns 300 MW of operating assets and has 1 gigawatt of projects in development across Asia-Pacific. In the Philippines, the company is building both utility-scale solar and rooftop solar portfolios for commercial and industrial clients.
