NUSTAR Resort & Casino Cebu announced on December 4 that it has partnered with Vivant Energy’s retail electricity arm, COREnergy, to supply its power needs as the resort continues expanding its hospitality, gaming, retail, and entertainment operations.
The agreement is positioned to strengthen NUSTAR’s energy reliability and support its ongoing growth.
NUSTAR said the partnership reflects its commitment to sustaining a seamless, world-class guest experience across its facilities. Trevor Hammond, senior vice president for Gaming and Integrated Resort Operations, said dependable and high-performing power solutions are essential to maintaining its standards.
“At NUSTAR, we are committed to creating a world-class destination where every experience is seamless. Partnering with COREnergy supports that commitment by giving us reliable energy solutions that meet the level of excellence our brand demands,” he said.
COREnergy said the arrangement allows the company to provide competitively priced electricity along with data-driven tools to help businesses optimize consumption. “Energy should be simple. Our role is to be an energy solutions provider to businesses by providing smarter and tailor-fitted solutions that add value to them,” said COREnergy president Francis Del Val.
He added that NUSTAR can use the My Power Platform to understand its consumption patterns and better plan energy utilization.
The collaboration aligns with Vivant Corporation’s push for sustainable and flexible energy solutions for commercial users. With the Energy Regulatory Commission set to lower the contestable threshold to 100 kilowatts by 2026, more establishments will be eligible to join the Retail Electricity Supply market.
COREnergy said these options enable businesses to manage consumption effectively, ensure operational stability, and focus on achieving consistent performance.
How will wider access to flexible retail electricity supply shape the energy strategies of large commercial establishments?
