Navotas City has again named an AboitizPower generation unit as its top real property taxpayer, underscoring the role of power assets not just in grid reliability but also in local government revenues.

Therma Mobile, Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation, was recognized as the number one real property taxpayer in Navotas for the ninth consecutive year during the city’s 119th Navotas Day celebration. The company also ranked 11th in local business tax contributions.

The recognition was conferred by Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez on AboitizPower Transition Business Group Regional Chief Operating Officer Lito Morta and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Services Lou Jason Deligencia.

“Your contribution is more than just a tax,” Tiangco said, noting that the payments help fund social programs and infrastructure projects, including upgrades to the Navotas City Hospital. “It is a symbol of hope and a solid foundation that paves the way for a more prosperous future for every Navoteño. Thank you for your continued support to our City.”

The award highlights how generation assets—particularly those providing ancillary and emergency services—translate into steady fiscal support for host communities. Therma Mobile operates four barge-mounted oil-fired power plants at the Navotas Fishport with a combined installed capacity of 241 megawatts, serving as an ancillary service provider to the Luzon grid.

Morta said the continued recognition reflects the company’s responsibility as a corporate citizen and its contribution to economic growth and social development in Navotas.

Beyond taxes, the company has been involved in medical missions, livelihood and education programs, and disaster response initiatives in the city, aligning community engagement with its operational footprint.

Therma Mobile is part of AboitizPower’s Transition Business Group, which manages the company’s thermal generation portfolio. The floating power barges are designed for rapid start-up, positioning them to respond to demand fluctuations and grid contingencies in Metro Manila and nearby areas.
