European renewable energy developer Diverxia has launched operations in the Philippines, aiming to fast-track utility-scale solar projects and bring its expertise to the renewable energy market.

The company’s decision to begin structuring its Philippine solar project portfolio comes after more than a year of market analysis, regulatory review, and on-the-ground technical assessment.

“The Philippine renewable energy market presents significant long-term potential. Our objective is to contribute to its growth by applying structured development practices, technical rigor, and long-term strategic thinking,” said Jose Luis Martinez, Head of Business Development at Diverxia.

Diverxia plans to bring projects to the Ready-to-Build stage under European governance standards, emphasizing disciplined financial structuring and transparent development processes. The Makati-based firm aims to combine international experience with a strong local presence to support the country’s clean energy transition.

Part of the international Grupo Alonso, Diverxia manages 4 gigawatts (GW) of solar projects worldwide, with a footprint across the United States, Brazil, Italy, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, and Lithuania.

Diverxia’s portfolio includes one of its largest photovoltaic developments—the Huéneja Photovoltaic Complex in Granada, Spain, a 150-megawatt project spanning hundreds of hectares and designed to deliver tens of thousands of megawatt-hours of clean power annually.
