Jin Navitas Electric Corporation (JNEC) is now supplying 100% renewable electricity to Uratex and Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU) through the Energy Regulatory Commission’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).

JNEC made the announcement during the RAP ceremonial signing with Uratex in their auditorium of their Alabang Plant last Tuesday, July 21. 

Uratex consolidated the electricity requirements of 23 showrooms across Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna before selecting JNEC as its retail electricity supplier.

Ateneo de Naga also chose JNEC, marking the first RAP implementation in the Bicol region and within the franchise area of Camarines Sur II Electric Cooperative, Inc.

RAP allows qualified customers to combine the electricity demand of several facilities so they can choose a licensed retail electricity supplier. The electricity is still delivered through the customers’ existing distribution networks, while the selected supplier handles the contracted power supply.

Under the arrangements, Uratex and AdNU will continue receiving electricity through their existing distribution networks, while JNEC serves as their retail electricity supplier and provides access to renewable energy.

JNEC sources the renewable electricity from the portfolio of its affiliated renewable energy company, Jin Navitas Solaris Inc. This includes NING*NING, a rooftop solar energy initiative installed on socialized housing developments.

For Ateneo de Naga, the shift supports the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the principles of Laudato Si, Pope Francis’ encyclical on caring for the environment and the common home.

“Today, we bring our efforts to a new level by subscribing to renewable energy, and this is what JNEC does for us,” Ateneo de Naga University President Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, SJ said.

Uratex Managing Director Peachy Medina said the partnership reflects the alignment between Uratex and JNEC’s stated social, national, environmental, and faith-centered values.

JNEC said the two partnerships demonstrate how qualified businesses, institutions, and other consumers can use RAP to combine their electricity demand and then access renewable power aligned with their sustainability goals.

The company added that customers may also gain access to competitive electricity rates while supportiang energy projects that contribute to Filipino communities.

JNEC is the retail electricity supply arm of the Joy~Nostalg Group and serves businesses and institutions as a licensed retail electricity supplier.
