BCDA partners with Esyasoft on BESS, smart energy in New Clark City

State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Esyasoft Technologies Asia to explore advanced energy solutions, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), for its flagship developments—anchored on New Clark City—as part of efforts to strengthen grid stability and accelerate renewable energy integration.

The agreement, formalized on April 27, covers potential deployment of smart energy technologies aimed at improving power reliability, optimizing electricity use, and supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources within BCDA-managed estates.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the collaboration is intended to position New Clark City and other developments as future-ready hubs capable of supporting increased renewable energy penetration.

“This partnership aligns with the national government’s direction of advancing sustainable, renewable, and clean energy solutions,” Bingcang said, noting that “by 2030, more than 50% of the country’s energy mix is targeted to come from clean energy sources.”

Esyasoft Southeast Asia CEO Madhusdan Sreedharan signed the agreement on behalf of the company, which specializes in digital energy platforms and grid optimization technologies.
