Julie’s Bakeshop has tapped COREnergy, the retail electricity arm of Vivant Energy Corporation, as its retail electricity supplier for its commissary operations.
The Cebu-born bakery chain said its commissaries sit at the center of its daily operations, supporting the production, quality, and supply of breads and baked goods for Filipino families.
The partnership was sealed by Julie’s Franchise Corporation Chief Operating Officer Gio Gandionco and COREnergy Vice President and Head of Operations Marko Sarmiento.
The move comes as food manufacturers continue to manage volatile commodity prices, rising wages, and higher logistics costs.
While flour and fuel often dominate discussions on inflation, electricity remains one of the largest controllable expenses for many manufacturers.
Through COREnergy’s Power Choice service, Julie’s Bakeshop is expected to manage its energy consumption more strategically.
The press release also said that the partnership may free up resources that could support production upgrades, modern equipment, and future expansion.
Can more food manufacturers use retail electricity supply options to better manage operating costs and support growth?
