ACEN secures CDP leadership rating, boosting climate action efforts

ACEN Corporation earns Leadership status and an A− rating from CDP, a global organization assessing environmental transparency and corporate climate action. This marks a significant improvement from its previous B rating, reflecting ACEN’s sustained efforts toward climate action and environmental governance.

“Achieving CDP Leadership status reflects ACEN’s disciplined approach to integrating sustainability into our business strategy…Our improved rating reinforces our commitment to responsible growth and scaling renewable energy investments that drive both financial and environmental impact,” said ACEN group chief finance officer and Chief Strategy Officer Jonathan Back.

ACEN’s participation in CDP’s climate disclosure initiative since 2022 aligns it with over 24,800 global organizations contributing to a vast environmental dataset. These insights guide informed decision-making for investors, corporations, and governments seeking sustainability-driven strategies.

CDP evaluates companies based on comprehensive disclosures, risk management strategies, environmental awareness, and progress toward sustainability goals. Leadership status recognizes organizations that demonstrate best practices in environmental action and governance.

ACEN’s recognition positions it as a leader in scaling renewable solutions, offering a blueprint for sustainable energy practices.

The company has further demonstrated its environmental leadership through initiatives like the early retirement of a 246-megawatt (MW) coal plant in Batangas, which is projected to cut up to 50 million tons of carbon emissions.

Additionally, ACEN is pioneering the use of Transition Credits to accelerate this retirement, driving deeper decarbonization.

As CDP scores become an essential benchmark for corporate climate accountability, ACEN’s recognition underscores the crucial role energy companies play in advancing climate action and environmental sustainability.
