The Araneta Group has renewed its power supply agreement with MPower, the retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), reinforcing a partnership that supports the continued expansion of commercial and hospitality developments in Araneta City.
The renewed contract ensures a stable electricity supply for ACI, Inc.’s buildings in Quezon City and now includes Araneta Group’s newest hospitality venture, ibis Styles Manila Araneta City. This expansion highlights the increasing demand for reliable energy as Araneta City continues to grow as a dynamic hub for retail, entertainment, and business.
“The Araneta Group is committed to excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Our long-time partnership with MPower secures a reliable energy supply across our multiple properties, allowing us to deliver the highest level of service to our guests,” said Novotel & ibis Styles Manila Cluster General Manager Maria Manlulu-Garcia.
For over a decade, MPower has been a key energy partner for Araneta City. Since 2013, ACI, Inc. has sourced power from MPower, with Araneta Hotels Inc. following in 2018. The partnership operates under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), allowing businesses with an electricity demand of at least 500 kW to select their power provider based on cost and service benefits.
Beyond providing reliable power, MPower has been expanding its initiatives to align with market demands and sustainability goals. As a leading retail electricity supplier within Meralco’s franchise area, MPower has been increasing its renewable energy capacity, responding to growing calls from businesses for cleaner and more efficient power solutions. The company continues to innovate in energy management, offering tailored solutions that help enterprises optimize their power consumption and costs.
“The enduring partnership and trust given to us in powering Araneta City inspire MPower to continuously explore new avenues for growth and innovation, ensuring we deliver even greater value to our partners,” said Meralco First Vice President and MPower Head Redel M. Domingo.
With this strengthened agreement, MPower and the Araneta Group continue to fuel business growth in Araneta City, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply for its expanding portfolio of commercial and hospitality properties.
