PLDT, Meralco, MSpectrum team up to expand solar adoption in Filipino homes

PLDT, Meralco, and MSpectrum join forces for smarter, sustainable, and future-ready homes for Filipinos. Leading the signing ceremony is PLDT and Meralco Chairman Manny V Pangilinan (middle) with (L-R) PLDT First Vice President and Head of Acquisition Marketing Patrick S. Tang, PLDT First Vice President and Head of Home Marketing John Henri C. Yanez, PLDT First Vice President and Head of Network Strategy and Architecture Roderick S. Santiago, PLDT Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business John Y. Palanca, Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho, MSpectrum Chief Operating Officer Patrick Henry T. Panlilio, MSpectrum Director and Sponsor Ferdinand O. Geluz, and Meralco Senior Vice President and Head of Customer Relations and Services Charina P. Padua.

PLDT Home, Manila Electric Company (Meralco), and solar provider MSpectrum have forged a partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of rooftop solar systems and smart-home solutions among Filipino households, as rising power costs push consumers to seek greater control over their energy use.

The collaboration brings together the country’s largest broadband provider, power distributor, and a solar solutions company under the MVP Group, offering PLDT Home subscribers access to exclusive MSpectrum solar packages, flexible payment options, and end-to-end installation and maintenance services.

PLDT and Meralco Chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan said the initiative reflects a broader effort within the MVP Group to leverage synergies across its businesses.

“One of the priorities that I have set across our organizations is to work together to create innovations that deliver greater value and meaningful impact for Filipinos. This partnership between PLDT Home, Meralco, and MSpectrum reflects that commitment by bringing together connectivity and energy solutions that can help improve everyday life while contributing to a more sustainable future for our communities and our nation,” he said.

The companies said the partnership comes as digital connectivity becomes increasingly essential for work, education, entertainment, and entrepreneurship, while consumers continue to grapple with elevated electricity costs.

Chairman Manny V Pangilinan leads the signing ceremony with PLDT Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business John Y. Palanca and Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho, marking the groundbreaking partnership of PLDT, Meralco, and MSpectrum to deliver broadband and solar energy solutions to Filipinos.

Under the arrangement, PLDT Home customers can avail themselves of customized solar systems designed according to household energy requirements, roof size, and long-term consumption needs. Solutions may include solar panels, inverters, and battery storage systems, supported by services covering system design, permitting, installation, maintenance, and after-sales support.

“At PLDT Home, our mission goes beyond providing reliable connectivity. We are helping shape the future of the Filipino home–one that is smarter, more connected, and more efficient,” PLDT Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business John Y. Palanca said.

“Reflecting our Chairman Manny V Pangilinan’s vision of leveraging synergies within the group to create value for our customers, our partnership with Meralco and MSpectrum can deliver more meaningful and innovative solutions than any one company could do alone,” he added.

Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho emphasized the role of the partnership in promoting cleaner energy adoption.

“Connectivity without purpose falls short. Power without responsibility loses its meaning. Together with PLDT and MSpectrum, we carry the obligation to deliver a future where homes are smarter, energy is cleaner, and communities are stronger,” Aperocho said.
