Chevron Philippines, Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex in the country, has named Billy Liu as its new country chairman succeeding Louie Zhang who retired recently after over three decades of service to the oil firm.

Prior to his current appointment last October 1, Liu held different posts focusing on business development, change management, value chain optimization, and sales in the United States.

Earlier this year, Liu — who brings with him 13 years of experience in the oil industry — helped bolster Chevron’s position in the North American market.

Liu also served as project manager for Chevron Asia Pacific, leading several notable projects in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

A graduate of the Northwestern University and the University of California Los Angeles, Liu will be managing the marketing of transportation fuels, coolants, and finished lubricants for commercial and retail sales under the international fuels and lubricants segment of CPI.

Caltex has 639 service stations nationwide to date, including 21 new ones that were recently added. CPI will continue to open new stations until the year’s end despite the pandemic.

Despite the pandemic and lockdowns, CPI continues to open Caltex stations in various parts of the country.
