The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has given the greenlight for the planned substation project of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) situated in Tarlac province.

In a report by Inquirer, the Php 2.58 billion project is expected to accommodate the predicted rise in power load in Capas town as it connects to the grid of Shin Clark Power Corporation, the distribution utility for New Clark City (NCC), Tarlac Electric Cooperatives I and II, and Tarlac Electric Inc.

The commission, however, stated that the project would still be reviewed for streamlining during an upcoming regulatory reset, depending on its actual use and usefulness, as well as verifiable expenses for the streamlined assets.

The NGCP said that the Concepcion 230 (kilovolt) kV Substation would meet the increased demand via the projected Concepcion-Capas 230 kV Line.

In November, the commission approved the development of three additional projects: the Bolo-Balaoan 500 kV Transmission Line Project, the Northern Luzon 230 kV Loop Project, and the Nabas-Caticlan-Boracay Transmission Project, which is expected to cost around Php 38.09 billion.
