Filinvest Group’s FDC Misamis Power Corp. (FDC Misamis) has secured a two-year, 20-megawatt (MW) power supply agreement with Vivant Energy’s retail electricity supplier COREnergy, expanding supply available to contestable customers as competition in the retail electricity market continues to grow.
The agreement enables COREnergy to source an additional 20 MW from FDC Misamis, strengthening its supply portfolio for commercial and industrial customers eligible to choose their electricity supplier under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) program.
“This partnership with COREnergy allows us to extend the dependable power supply of FDC Misamis to more commercial and industrial customers through the retail electricity market,” said FDC Misamis President and CEO Juan Eugenio L. Roxas.
COREnergy is expanding its customer base beyond Metro Manila, where businesses are increasingly seeking supply flexibility and competitive electricity procurement.
“This partnership with FDC Misamis adds meaningful capacity to our portfolio, giving us the flexibility to serve businesses beyond Metro Manila, with a stronger and more resilient supply portfolio. It’s a step forward in delivering the Power of Choice—as more businesses, and soon more Filipinos, gain the freedom to choose their power supplier,” said Michael Lasam, assistant vice president and head of commercial operations and strategy at COREnergy.
