The Laus Group of Companies (LGC) is partnering with German-Filipino supplier Philergy to introduce solar energy to two of its owned buildings in Pampanga.
In a report by Philippine Star, LGC said that the activation of solar power systems in the main buildings of Carworld Inc. and Corporate Guarantee would warrant the independent production of approximately 50 kilowatt-peak of power.
This partnership is expected to result in up to a 50 % reduction in electric bills.
Additionally, LGC highlighted that the adoption of solar power aligned with the tropical climate of the country and also reinforced their commitment to sustainability initiatives.
LGC CEO and Chairperson Lisset Laus-Velasco stressed that the company is dedicated to advocating for environmental sustainability and with this, kept in mind the transition to renewable energy (RE) whenever possible.
Furthermore, she saw the shift to solar energy as a crucial step for the environment, as it contributes to lowering carbon emissions as well as the conservation of natural resources
Velasco then expressed LGC’s intention to expand the use of solar-powered systems in their businesses across Luzon.
Solar power installations fall within the framework of the Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) requirements set by the Department of Energy (DOE).
