Levanta, Citicore back Brigada Eskwela in Camarines Sur communities

Levanta Renewables and Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. (CREC) have rolled out a Brigada Eskwela 2026 initiative benefiting more than 1,100 students and teachers in Camarines Sur, as the companies deepen community engagement in areas where they are jointly developing a wind energy project.**

The two renewable energy firms said six elementary schools across the municipalities of Bombon and Calabanga received educational resources and campus improvements ahead of the opening of the new school year.

The initiative provided school supplies, notebooks, whiteboards and other learning materials, while also funding classroom renovations, roof replacement works and ceiling rehabilitation to improve the schools’ learning environments.

In total, 1,127 students and teachers from the six participating schools benefited from the program.

The companies said the initiative forms part of their community development efforts in Camarines Sur, where they are co-developing a wind energy project.

In January, Levanta Renewables and CREC announced a 45-megawatt onshore wind project in the province, expected to complete in 2027. The project is the first of a planned four-project onshore wind portfolio with a combined capacity of 375 MW that the partners are developing in the Philippines with the backing of sustainable infrastructure investor Actis.
