Vena Energy backs Brigada Eskwela in host communities nationwide

Renewable energy developer Vena Energy has mobilized employee volunteers and provided school maintenance materials and classroom equipment across several host communities in the Philippines as part of the Department of Education’s annual Brigada Eskwela program.

The company said the initiative covered public schools in Rizal, Samar, Negros Occidental, Leyte, and Ilocos Norte, reinforcing its corporate social responsibility efforts alongside its renewable energy operations.

In Samar, Gemini Wind Energy Corp. donated specialized roof paints to 13 public elementary and high schools, including Rizal Elementary School, Migara National High School, Basud Integrated School, Cabatuan National High School, Tinambacan Central School, and Bugtong Elementary School. The materials are intended to help protect school buildings from tropical weather conditions ahead of the opening of classes.

In Rizal, Pililla Wind Power Corporation supplied paint and cleaning materials to Bugarin Elementary School while 33 volunteers—composed of 13 employees from Vena Energy’s Makati office and 20 site-based personnel—joined teachers and parents in repainting classrooms and cleaning school facilities.

Meanwhile, Sembrano Wind Power Corporation donated 32 stand fans to improve classroom ventilation, with 20 units allocated to Malaya Elementary School and 12 units to Niogan Elementary School.

Other Vena Energy project companies—including Mirae Asia Energy Corp., First Solar Energy Corporation, Helios Solar Energy Corp., and Asian Greenergy Corporation—also distributed paint and cleaning materials to partner schools in their respective host communities.

According to Vena Energy, the coordinated effort supports safer and more conducive learning environments while strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders in areas where the company operates renewable energy projects.

“Our participation in Brigada Eskwela goes beyond preparing classrooms for the start of the school year. It reflects our deep commitment to being a responsible and trusted partner to our host communities,” said Samrinder Nehria, Head of Vena Energy in the Philippines.

“For us, sustainability means more than generating clean energy. It means investing in the infrastructure, well-being, and future of the communities where we operate, particularly the children who will help shape tomorrow.”

The company said the initiative reflects its broader commitment to linking renewable energy development with long-term community development through education and volunteerism.
