Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad) has been recognized in the 2023 Europa Awards for its initiatives to advance clean and sustainable energy solutions. The award, under its Clean and Green Energy category, is organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP).

Based on BusinessMirror’s recent coverage, this is a testament to the water services provider’s efforts, which have minimized energy consumption in its water supply operations.

At the award ceremony held in Makati City, Maynilad’s Division Head for Quality, Sustainability, and Resiliency, Atty. Roel S. Espiritu received the 2023 Europa Clean and Energy Category Award. It was presented by   ECCP President Paulo Duarte and ECCP Executive Director Florian Gottein.

Among the strategies employed by the West Zone water concessionaire is the installation of photovoltaic solar power farms, which now power multiple facilities at La Mesa Compound in Quezon City, effectively cutting the company’s carbon emissions by 21 tons each month.

The ECCP’s Europa Awards platform seeks to acknowledge companies that demonstrate exceptional performance and contributions to sustainability. By seamlessly integrating clean and renewable energy sources into their daily operations, these companies adhere to both global standards and the Philippine Development Plan.
