Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) has announced that certain areas in Metro Manila and Laguna will face temporary power interruptions this week due to maintenance activities.
Maintenance and upgrading operations are scheduled in specific locations from April 2 to April 7, said MERALCO’s Head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga.
According to a Philippine Daily Inquirer report, Zaldarriaga clarified that these activities are part of routine maintenance efforts, typically involving a few areas each day rather than widespread outages.
Zaldarriaga further explained that only select areas or municipalities need to temporarily disconnect from electricity service due to new pole installations. He said de-energizing or power removal is a necessary part of the installation process.
MERALCO has provided a schedule of areas expected to experience power interruptions from April 2 to April 7.
April 2 – 3 – Makati City
