MGreen awards EPC contract for solar projects in Isabela, Nueva Ecija

MGen Renewable Energy, Inc. (MGreen), the renewable energy subsidiary of MERALCO PowerGen Corporation (MGen), recently inked Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts with SUMEC Complete Equipment and Engineering Co. Ltd. 

The signing marked the commencement of construction for MGreen’s solar power plant ventures in Cordon, Isabela, and Bongabon, Nueva Ecija. 

These projects, totaling 49 MWac in Isabela and 18.75 MWac for Nueva Ecija, are part of the Department of Energy’s second Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP). 

With a target commercial operation set for the last quarter of 2024, MGreen aims to significantly contribute to the nation’s renewable energy goals.

MGen Expanding Markets Division Head, Dan Neil, emphasized the importance of timely project completion, encouraging the team to address challenges effectively. 

MGen President and CEO, Jaime Azurin, expressed confidence in SUMEC as a strategic partner, expecting on-time and on-budget project delivery. Meanwhile, SUMEC’s Senior Marketing and Sales Director, Lennon Zong, assured their commitment to timely project completion, highlighting MGen as one of their valued clients.

Currently, MGreen operates three solar plants, showcasing its dedication to advancing renewable energy utilization in collaboration with key industry players.
