Global manufacturer SolaX Power is prioritizing the Asia-Pacific market, including the Philippines, as it sees the region becoming a key growth area for hybrid solar and energy storage systems over the next five years.
Adam He, SolaX Regional Sales Manager and Director for Asia-Pacific, said the company will keep its focus on the region, particularly Southeast Asian markets, while advancing technologies such as artificial intelligence-driven grid-forming functions.
“In terms of markets, we think the Asia-Pacific market will be the booming market in the future. So we will keep the priority for the Asia-Pacific market, especially the South Asia markets, including Philippines,” He told Power Philippines at the SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai.
He said SolaX is also focusing on AI-driven grid-forming functions, which he described as a key advantage for the company moving forward.
Grid-forming technology allows inverter-based systems, such as solar and battery systems, to help create or stabilize power supply. This can be useful in areas with weak grid connections or limited access to the main power grid.
He said the technology could help serve areas that still have no grid or low grid access by allowing renewable energy systems to continue supplying communities.
“I think AI will be the future trend. So in the future, all our products, all our platforms will be integrated with AI functions,” He said.
For the Philippine market, director He said SolaX is preparing to launch its 80-kilowatt, 230-volt commercial and industrial hybrid system, which he described as a pioneer product for the market.
The company is also preparing to launch its next-generation hybrid systems, which He said would offer better performance and more cost-effective solutions for customers.
He also said SolaX differentiates itself in the highly competitive solar industry through its focus on hybrid systems and long research and development experience in the segment.
He said SolaX was the first company to launch a hybrid system in Asian markets and the second globally to launch a high-powered three-phase hybrid system. The company has around 14 years of research and development experience in the field.
“We are focusing on specializing in this market, in this industry for a longer time. We are confident that we have more technology, more advanced technology,” He said.
He added that SolaX is confident in the quality of its products, including its hybrid inverter and battery bundle, which comes with a 10-year warranty.
The company’s Philippine plans come as hybrid solar and storage systems continue to gain traction among commercial, industrial, and off-grid customers seeking more resilient and cost-effective power solutions.
