Villar’s PAVI Green to install 7MW Solar Rooftop at PMFTC Batangas Facility

PMFTC Inc., the local affiliate of the Philippine Morris International, has signed an agreement with PAVI Green Renewable Energy Inc. (PAVI Green) for its seven-megawatt (MW) solar rooftop project.

PAVI will be installing a seven MW solar rooftop system in PMFTC’s manufacturing facility in Tanuaan City, Batangas. The project is expected for completion by October 2023.

The Villar RE company said that the solar project is the fulfillment of PMFTC’s sustainability effort under the Zero-Carbon Technology program, which explores the use of alternative technologies, including solar photovoltaics, to achieve carbon neutrality in its operation by 2025.

PMFTC’s solar project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 9,811.2 tons of carbon dioxide which is equivalent to planting 304,147 to 451,315 trees or the consumption of 1,001,527 gallons of gasoline.

Back in July, PAVI Green secured a 20-year supply deal for its 40.4 MW solar farm in Naga, Bicol.

The Villar-led renewable energy company is investing around Php 40 billion to build a 1,000 MW portfolio in three to five years.
