AG&P LNG Terminal to open in 2023

Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific International Holdings (AG&P) said that it will begin to deliver gas by March next year, looking to bring in liquefied natural gas (LNG) “for the first time” to the Philippines. 

The company announced has finished converting its 137,512 cubic meter ISH liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier into a floating storage unit (FSU) for its Philippines LNG Import Terminal (PHLNG) in Batangas. 

AG&P Terminals and Logistics president Karthik Sathyamoorhy said that the construction of the two onshore tanks in the LNG facility’s second phase has begun. It will be integrated as part of the main terminal in 2024 to ensure the high availability and reliability of natural gas for customers. 

AG&P has signed a 15-year charter agreement with ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) for the supply, operations, and maintenance of the FSU facility of its LNG import terminal. 

PHLNG will be servicing the 1,200 megawatt (MW) Ilijan natural gas power plant of the San Miguel Corporation, as well as SMC Global Power Holdings’ 850-MW mid-merit plant expansion set for operations this year. 

The five million tons per annum LNG facility is a project between AG&P and local unit Linseed Field Power Corporation.
