Globe is making strides in its sustainability efforts through a partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES) to convert 20 of its facilities to run entirely on renewable energy (RE).
Three more sites are also in the process of transitioning, with ACEN ensuring a reliable renewable energy supply.
“Digitalization and sustainability are at the very core of the Ayala group. We are excited to harness these synergies with Globe and help empower the Filipino people in a sustainable manner,” said ACEN CEO Eric Francia.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Globe’s renewable energy shift includes its corporate headquarters, Globe Tower in Taguig, which transitioned to RE in 2019, with additional sites slated to follow this year.
This move reflects Globe’s ongoing dedication to sustainability and its proactive stance in driving the country’s renewable energy transition.
“By working together with ACEN RES, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint but also demonstrating our commitment to providing innovative digital solutions for Filipinos towards a sustainable future,” said Globe CEO and president Ernest Cu.
The collaboration with ACEN RES bolstered Globe’s standing as an industry leader, highlighting its proactive approach to sustainability and environmental stewardship within the telecommunications sector.
