The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has assured customers it is prepared to respond to possible power service concerns as Super Typhoon Nando moves across the country.

Meralco said its crews are strategically deployed and on standby 24/7 to address electricity-related issues, especially in areas covered by tropical cyclone warning signals and those prone to flooding.

“Our crews and personnel are strategically deployed and on standby 24/7. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and remain vigilant, especially in flood-prone areas,” said Joe R. Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications.

The company also released electrical safety reminders for households and businesses:

• Switch off the main power source and unplug appliances.
• Keep hands and feet dry before touching electrical equipment.
• Clean mud and debris while wearing protective gear.
• Make sure wires and devices are fully dry before use.
• Have licensed electricians check flood-damaged equipment.

Customers may report outages and concerns through Meralco’s social media accounts, hotlines, and dedicated mobile numbers.
