Aboitiz Power Corp. (AboitizPower) reported a 32% rise in third-quarter net income to PHP 10.6 billion, lifted by stronger generation margins and higher hydro inflows that helped offset weak spot market prices.
In a PSE disclosure filed by parent firm Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) on November 4, the power firm reported that quarterly earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached PHP 22.2 billion, up 16% from the previous quarter.
For the first nine months of 2025, AboitizPower posted PHP 56.3 billion in beneficial EBITDA, nearly flat year-on-year, and PHP 23.1 billion in core net income. Reported net income, including foreign exchange and derivative gains, stood at PHP 23.3 billion.
Generation and retail EBITDA inched up 1% to PHP 50.9 billion, as higher sales volumes—32,138 GWh, up 19%—offset lower market prices. New capacity from the Laoag, Armenia, and Calatrava solar projects and Chromite Gas Holdings contributed to growth.
The distribution business posted PHP 7.0 billion EBITDA, up 2%, with energy sales rising 5% to 5,166 GWh.
AboitizPower remained AEV’s main earnings driver, contributing PHP 12.5 billion to the parent’s PHP 17.3 billion consolidated net income for the period. AEV logged PHP 26.4 billion in consolidated EBITDA, with the power unit accounting for over two-thirds of the total.
The company said its improved performance reflected lower spot market exposure and stronger hydro output amid ongoing expansion of its renewable energy portfolio.
